Jim is survived by his Loving wife Sally Helton of Indianapolis, Indiana; beloved children Heather Yount of Greenfield, Indiana, Catherine Helton of Feeding Hills, Massachusetts; and James Helton of Hampden, Massachusetts; grandchildren Melissa N. Tomlin Hansen of Noblesville, Indiana and Stephen Steinbock of Feeding Hills;  sister JoAnn Corell of Mt. Holly, North Carolina; sister-in-law Nancy R. Marcotte of Indianapolis, Indiana; and several nieces and nephews.

Rest in peace, Uncle Jim. I’ll always remember your kind and gentle spirit, welcoming nature, and golf skills! Visiting you and Aunt Sally was always one of my favorite family vacations as a kid. You two are so much fun, and I know you’ll be golfing up a storm and relaxing in that big club house in the sky. You will be missed. Love always, Jen

Jim was a quiet man, never given to imposing his thoughts or opinions on others. But he was a man of principle and a devoted husband and father (and grandfather). A true Southern gentleman. He will be sorely missed.
