A Celebration of Life Is scheduled for April 24th at 11:00 AM at the MCL at 2370 W. 86th St., Indianapolis, IN 46260.

James L. Matters, born to Sadie and Harvey Matters on February 10th 1934, left this earth on April 11th 2016. He leaves behind his wife of 39 years, Josephine “Dolly” Matters, his son Keith (Maria) Matters, step children Maryanne Iaria and Pete (Marty) Iaria, grandchildren Eric Matters, Stephen (Amy) Matters, Bridget (John) Watts, Abigail Perdue and Joshua Perdue, brother Pat Matters, as well as great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughters Catherine (Eldon) Perdue and Karen (John) Breedlove, and siblings Robert Matters, Betty Corlette and Lucy Fletcher. He was a Korean war veteran and a 32nd degree Mason. He worked at the English Avenue Ford plant for 32 years. He enjoyed golf, and travelling and ballroom dancing with his wife. A Celebration of Life Is scheduled for April 24th at 11:00 AM at the MCL at 2370 W. 86th St., Indianapolis, IN 46260. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to cancer research. Arrangements by Indiana Funeral Care.

    Dear Keith, Maria and family,

    I’m sorry to learn of your father’s passing.

    I won’t be able to join you on Sunday, since that is time when a memorial Mass is being celebrated for my parents on what whould have been their 95th anniversary.

    Know that your fathere and you will be in my prayers at that time.

    I played golf with Jim at Ironwood for many years. I called him ‘secret weapon’ cause when he got hot, we won. I never saw him without a smile, his zest for life was contagious, We’ll miss him.
