James L. Jones, 53, passed away at home Thursday, June 29, 2017 after his fight with cancer and COPD.  He was born August 9, 1963, in Muncie, the son of Nancy (Bill) Kingsley of Beech Grove and Jim (Barb) Jones of Texas.  He was raised  in Muncie and graduated from Muncie Central High School.  He  married Chris Payer on June 1, 1990.  They were blessed with two beautiful daughters, Jamie (Andrew) Jaggers and Maleena (Weston) Reed, who gifted him with three awesome Jaggers grandkids, Blake (7), Beau (4), and Addi (2); and a Reed grandbaby on the way.

He enjoyed watching NASCAR, fishing, and being an awesome Papaw.

James is survived by his wife of 27 years, Chris Jones; two daughters; 3 grandchildren with one on the way; his parents; sisters, Kim (Allen) Bowdell and Laurie Hill; brother, Lance Jones; several nieces and nephews; mother-in-law, Pat Payer; and brother-in-law Rich “Will” Payer of Ohio.

A celebration of his life will be held Sunday, July 9, 2017 from 3:00 until 5:00 p.m. at The AUMC Youth Building, 125 N. Broadway, Albany, Indiana 47320
