
Family and friends will gather at 9:30 am on Monday, February 24 at Holy Name Catholic Church in Beech Grove. Funeral Mass at 10:00 am. Jim will be laid to rest at Mount Hope Cemetery in Peru, IN at 2pm, following a graveside service.
Mr. James Joseph Curran, 89, of Indianapolis died Tuesday, February 18, 2014 at Beech Grove Meadows, Beech Grove, IN.
Jim (as we all know him), was born in Indianapolis on Sept. 30, 1924 to Leo and Ethel (Crosby) Curran. They are both deceased.
He was first married to Allie Mae Newby in Peru, IN , after she passed away he married Ruth Curran, also of Peru, she also passed away and he married Fannie Cooper, in Kokomo, IN, who is also deceased. Jim was a lifelong member of the Catholic Church. Most recently a member of Holy Name Catholic Church in Beech Grove.
Jim worked for many years at Square D in Peru, IN. After retirement he enjoyed playing cards and taking short trips with his sisters and nieces. He also was a big fan of Notre Dame sports and collecting Notre Dame memorabilia.
Jim has one surviving sister, Elizabeth L. Clade of Indianapolis and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and three spouses, he was preceded in death by 8 siblings. Brothers Leo J. Curran, Joseph G. Curran, and Francis J. Curran. Sisters Mary F. Fish, Teresa M. Edwards, Bertha M. Sego, Joan V. Molchan and Agnes M. Dillow.
