
James D. Snavley, 61, passed away Tuesday, October 20, 2015 in Indianapolis, IN.
Born in Fish Lake, Indiana, Jim lived in Port-au-Prince, Haiti from 1961 until 1970, where his parents, James and Virginia Nice Snavley, founded Grace Children’s Hospital for children with tuberculosis. Jim attended Southport High School in Indianapolis and Purdue University where he graduated as an electrical engineer. He worked for Bell Laboratories for 15 years, and held several other subsequent positions as a developer of software, smart card operating systems, control systems and biometric systems.
Jim served in the Air Force from 1973-75. He is survived by his daughter Emily Snavley, Sister Pamela Thomas, Brother John Snavley and granddaughter Aeris Clester.
A funeral service will be held at Indiana Funeral Care on Saturday, October 24, 2015 at 12:00 p.m. with visitation from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
