Irene M. Shidler, age 86, of North Judson, Indiana passed away Tuesday, July 17th at Riverwalk Nursing Home in Noblesville, Indiana.
Irene was born on October 3, 1931 in North Judson, Indiana to parents Mary and Frank Krulik. She spent more than 70 years on her farm in North Judson, Indiana before relocating near Indianapolis, Indiana to be closer to her family.
Irene was a devoted and loving mother. She left a beautiful legacy through her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Irene loved nothing more than family get-togethers and holidays. Any chance to spend time with her family and close friends was very important to her. You could often find Irene in the kitchen, as she would spend hours preparing and making meals for those closest to her. She will be remembered for her wonderful cooking and baking.
Irene also had an incredibly green thumb and a special love for gardening. Her family, and grandchildren most especially, avidly remember her for her beloved strawberry patch and vegetable gardens, as well as spending time at her farm during the summers.
In addition, Irene was known for her feisty, but great sense of humor. She loved to laugh and enjoyed sharing stories and memories with her children and grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Irene M. Shidler is preceded in death by her sons Emil Shidler, David Shidler and Melvin Shidler and grandson, Rodney Shidler. She is survived by daughter, Linda (Robert) Spenner and sons, Frank Shidler and Jeff Shidler, as well as daughter-in-laws, Donna Shidler, Judy Shidler, and Sherri Shidler. Irene is also survived by a proud lineage of nieces, nephews, 13 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Irene will be honored through a Celebration of Life with close family members and friends.
