Helen (Polezoes) Angelo, 94, died peacefully in Indianapolis on December 29, 2017.
Helen was born to James and Pota Polezoes, Elkhart, IN and resided in Goshen Indiana most of her life. She was well known for her singing and began her singing career by studying classical voice in Chicago. She traveled the Midwest in her early years with the Ethel Gaumer Singers and was an active performer with the South Bend Civic Theater, the South Bend Presbyterian Players and many other theater productions in the area.
Helen was the resident soloist for the Goshen Christian Science Church for over 35 years and also had been a member of the Greek Orthodox Church in South Bend.
Her father, James Polezoes, was best remembered for donating the Neptune statue which graces the Elkhart County Court House lawn in Goshen, Indiana.
Surviving are two daughters, Marina (Michael) McQueary, Fishers, IN, Andrea (Jason) Knotts, Charlotte, NC and a granddaughter, Alexis Abshire, Raleigh, NC.
Preceding her in death was a grandson, Alexander Wade Abshire in 1992 and a sister, Conie (Dina) Polezoes, Elkhart, Indiana in 2012.
A private family service will be held at a later date.
