FREDRIC A. HUNN of Indianapolis was born in Muskegon, Michigan to Bernice and Clifford Hunn on February 25, 1938.  His death was peaceful surrounded by loving family on August 15, 2017.

Fred is survived by his wife of 55 years, Rev. Joyce Harmon Hunn, and their five children:  Marci Hunn; Terry (Pat) Joyce; Lorri (Gary) Winebar; Michael (Stephanie) Hunn; and Christina Hunn Markey.  Fred also cherished his eight grandchildren:  Colin, Kasey and Julia Joyce; Ryan and Adam Winebar; Harrison and Shelby Hunn and Christian Markey IV.

He was a graduate of John Adams High School in South Bend and continued his education at Purdue receiving a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering followed by Masters’ Degrees in EE and another from Purdue’s Krannert School of Industrial Management.  Fred further completed a Leadership Program at Williams College.

Fred’s working career was with Indiana Bell/Ameritech/AT&T where he served in many positions.  In 1974 he held Engineering Positions throughout the state.  Then he became Division Data Manager in Comptrollers followed by Assistant VP as   General Sales Manager, Human Resources, Planning, Operations and Marketing Manager.    He retired as Vice President of Ameritech for Corporate Planning and Public Relations.

Fred was active on numerous boards and in many philanthropic activities.  These include his involvement at Second Presbyterian Church as a Deacon and on The Board of Trustees.  He was also active in Leadership for Indianapolis Great Banquet.  A few of his other Board Positions included The Indianapolis Art Museum, The Children’s Museum, The Indianapolis Zoo, The Indianapolis Sailing Club, Young Life, The Center for Leadership Development and The Indiana Society of Professional Engineers.

Visitation will be at Second Presbyterian Church, 7700 North Meridian, on Saturday, September 16 from 9-10:45 am.  The Memorial Celebration Service will follow at 11 am in the sanctuary.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial Gifts may be made to Second Presbyterian Church/Indianapolis Great Banquet or directly to The Second Presbyterian Church.

    I didn’t know Fred, as far as my memory serves, but I live in Indy and noticed that he graduated the same year that I did from John Adams High School in South Bend.

    Many thoughts and prayers for the family.
