Fred Wesley Isaacs, retired business and tax attorney and long-time resident of Delphi, Indiana, passed away from cancer March 13, 2019. He was 82.
Fred was born on August 10, 1936, in rural Indiana, the son of Emette Cleveland and Ida Mischa Lincks Isaacs.
Fred graduated from Cadiz High School in 1954 and married Loretta Mae Razor of New Castle. After serving in the Philippines with the Air Force, he graduated from Purdue University with a B.S. in aeronautical and aerospace engineering. In 1972 Fred received his J.D. from Indiana University School of Law and was admitted to the Indiana Bar.
At the age of 75, Fred decided he wasn’t interested in retirement and decided to become a long-haul trucker. After several years of driving all over the United States (he always loved to drive), Fred settled down to more local deliveries for Singletree Transportation.
Fred is survived by one sister, Phyll Ann (Judge) and his children: Fred Mitchell, Jennifer Renee (Weddle), Micki Jo (Harmeson), Josh Cameron, Patrick Lincks, Nathan Andrew, Zachary Russell, Nicholas Russell, and Mischa (Egolf); 30 grand and great-grandchildren.
In lieu of a funeral there will be a private service for immediate family only.

I am so sorry to hear of the death of Fred. The passing away of a loved one is always with much sorrow. May we have faith and confidence in the Bible’s promise of a time when pain, sickness and death are a thing of the past (Revelation 21:3, 4). My condolences are with the family at this difficult time.

I’m very sorry to hear about Fred’s death. My condolences to Fred, Jr., Jenny, Micki and Josh, whom I knew well growing up on Lewis Lake, and to Patrick, Nathan and the rest of the family. One of my favorite memories of Fred was the time he and I went sailing on the lake in his sailboat. It was mid-February, but sunny and windy. Too windy, as it turned out. A big gust of wind knocked us right over and into the freezing water we went. We made it to the east shore. Fred was only concerned about me and making sure I was all right. Needless to say, we didn’t go sailing any more in the winter. Fred wrote a very nice letter to me after my Dad’s death in 2017. Unfortunately, I forgot to write him back to thank him and I regret that. I very much appreciated his kind gesture. I now live back on the lake and have a good view of the ole Isaacs’ house. While these will be difficult times for all of you, grab hold of the good memories you have and cherish them. Peace to all of you.

So sorry to hear of Fred’s passing. He did so much to help me and my late father not only business-wise but personally, as well. I’ll always remember his smile and how genuine he was to us over the years. God Bless and RIP!
