
They will both be laid to rest, together at Washington Park East Cemetery on April 16, 2016 at 1 p.m., with full military honors for Jimmy.
James “Jimmy” Oliver Hackney, 66, passed away on March 24, 2016, he was loved by many. Frances J. “Franny” Frederick, Jimmy’s mother soon joined him in Heaven on April 11, 2016 when she passed away peacefully surrounded by their family, she was 91.
James was born on January 14, 1950 to James O. Hackney and Frances J. Frederick. He was a graduate of North Central high school. After graduation, he enrolled in the United States Army and proudly served his country during the Vietnam war in the 101ST Airborne Division.
Frances J. Frederick was born in Iowa on April 26, 1925 and came from a large, close family. Frances never met a stranger, she always spoke to everyone and trusted in the kindness of people’s hearts. In her later years, she was a resident of Brookdale Senior Living at Willow Lakes and was a beloved resident. She was blessed in her final days to be cared for so well by the beautiful staff of Brookdale and the wonderful nurses from Season’s hospice.
The most important thing to Jimmy and Franny in life was their family. They leave to uphold their memory and carry on their stories: Schuyler Hackney, Jimmy’s daughter; Sally Hackney and Mary Jane “Susie” Wright, daughters of Franny and sisters to Jimmy; David Frederick, Frances’ stepson and Jimmy’s step-brother; Jimmy’s grandchildren, Victoria Cook and McKinnley Corcoran; Franny’s 7 grandchildren and her 12 great grandchildren. They were preceded in death by: Frances’ husbands, Big Jim Hackney (Jimmy’s father) and Ernest Frederick.
They will both be laid to rest, together at Washington Park East Cemetery on April 16, 2016 at 1 p.m., with full military honors for Jimmy.
