Esther Eileen Habegger passed away unexpectedly, from natural causes, on October 28, 2015 at St. Vincent Indianapolis Hospital. Esther was born on July 18, 1924 to Charley and Edna Abnet in Geneva, Indiana. She was the valedictorian of Geneva High School in 1942 and graduated from Indiana Business College in Fort Wayne, Indiana. She served as office manager for thirty years for pediatricians Dr. George Teter and Dr. John Zimmer in Indianapolis.
She married Herman R. Habegger, electrical engineer, scientist, and author, on May 25, 1947, in Berne, Indiana. They moved to Indianapolis in 1949 and lived most of their years there raising their children Rebecca (C.W.) Mundy, Julia (Kevin) Green (born during a time they lived in North Carolina), Sara (Terry) Cala, and Joseph Habegger.
She and Herman traveled extensively (four continents) and volunteered in the US and in several foreign countries. Their volunteering included annually, for 15 years, at Hephzibah Heights, a retreat in Massachusetts for families.
She was an avid birder, a pianist, and loved gardening and baking. She was especially sociable with a friendly personality. She was passionate about sports, and loved attending professional or college (IU!!) sporting events, but even more the sporting events that involved her children and grandchildren!!

Psalm 27:4-5 “One thing I ask from the Lord, this only do I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze on the beauty of the Lord and to seek him in his temple. For in the day of trouble he will keep me safe in his dwelling; he will hide me in the shelter of his sacred tent and set me high upon a rock.”
