
It is with great sadness that the family of Ernest Reuther announces his passing after a brief illness, on Monday, November 20, 2017 at the age of 84.. Ernie will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 45 years, Anne, and his children, Lisa McCann, Christopher Reuther, Krista Neuger, and by his son-in-law Mitch Neuger, his brother-in-law Robert Walton, his sister-in-law Janis Wilson, and his brother-in-law Timothy Wilson. He will also be remembered by his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Ernie was predeceased by his sons Ernest and Eric Reuther, by his sister Barbara, and his brother David Reuther.
Born in Jersey City, NJ, Ernie was a graduate of the Newark School of Engineering and retired from Eastern Airlines in 1989. An avid aviator, he built his own Pietenpol Air Camper in his garage in the early 1950’s. The plane still flies today.

Ernie was one of several engineers who took me under his “wing” when I started my career at Bendix Aviation in Teterboro, NJ, in 1958. A funny and knowledgeable man. Thank you Ernie, for all your wisdom and guidance.
