In Memory of Emelda K. Katongo
Emelda Katongo was born on June 23, 1969. Emelda was named after her mother Bwembya. She was the seventh born in a family of nine children. She is survived by her three children, Chewe, Musonda and Mutale Katongo, and her four sisters, Susan, Freda, Harriet and Naomi Kangwa. She was born and raised in Ndola, Zambia where she attended school at Kansenshi Primary, and Chifubu Secondary Schools. Emelda persued higher education at Northern Technical College where she studied secretarial courses. She then worked for then ZCBC and later Shop rite. She relocated to the USA in 2001, She lived here in the States with her sister Freda for the past fifteen years. Back in February of 2016, she was diagonized with a malignant rare sacoma. After many treatments of chemotherapy and radiation she gave up on Wednesday October 19, 2016 at 9.57pm. Those of you who knew Emelda know she was full of life and wanted every moment to be a moment of joy. Sad as we are today, lets celebrate her life. Her last wish was to see her children before she passed. Unfortunately, this was not possible due to her poor health. Emelda will be greatly missed by all of us here in the states and back home in Zambia.
