
Dorothy Goodwin, 75, of Kewanee, passed away on June 5, 2016 at Bickford of Carmel surrounded by her family. She was born on March 21, 1941 in Kewanee, IL to Michael Grygiel and Angela Rapczak. Dorothy graduated from Webster College. She pursued a career in education, later becoming a case worker for the State of Illinois, where she eventually retired.
She enjoyed knitting, reading, and travelling, but spending time with her grandchildren was her most favorite past time.
Dorothy is survived by her children, Richard Goodwin of Sycamore, IL, David (Kim) Goodwin of Cincinnati, OH, and Stacy (Doug) Colbart of Kalamazoo, MI; her sister, Christine Simaytis of Mount Pleasant, SC; grandchildren, Michael, Ashlee, Shelby, Brooke, Kelsey, Aidan, Ryan and Stella; and great-grandchildren, Finlee and Rhett. She was preceded in death by her father, Michael; mother and stepdad, Angela and Charlie Simaytis; and brother, Richard Simaytis.
