A visitation will be held on July 3rd at New Revelation Christian Church from 11-12 pm with a service at noon. Arrangements by Indiana Funeral Care and Crematory.

DELORIS ANN LANE

Deloris, affectionately known as “Lois”, was born to the union of   Pervies W. and Willie Mae (Williams) Lane Sr., in Gary, Indiana.  Both parents preceded her in death.  Lois was the youngest of seven siblings.  Delilah Chapman, Pervies Jr., Vernon, and Doris Crockrom also preceded her in death.

Deloris accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age and was a member of Van Buren Baptist Church, Gary, Indiana.  She was a graduate of Roosevelt High School and alumni of Ivy Tech of Gary, IN and Purdue University Calumet where she studied communications and social work.

After graduation, Deloris was employed by US Steel of Gary for a number of years.  After a time, she became ill and was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis.

Despite the daily challenges of living with MS, Deloris loved spending time with her family, and traveled to every graduation, wedding, and family reunion possible.  She was blessed with a remarkable memory for important family dates; and enjoyed contacting each and every one of us on our special day and gently reminding us all to do the same for one another.

She is survived by brother, James (Anita) Lane; sister, Rosa Conway; son, David; daughter Damita Lane Jefferson, and grandsons, Bobby (Trey) III, Jeremiah and Isaiah Jefferson; childhood friend and godmother of her children, Tonilynn Trass;  and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and friends. A visitation will be held on July 3rd at New Revelation Christian Church from 11-12 pm with a service at noon. Arrangements by Indiana Funeral Care and Crematory.

In loving memory, donations may be made to the National MS Society. Click on the link below:
