David Craig Bruce (Dave), 75, passed away peacefully in his Indianapolis home on Wednesday, October 5, 2016, while in the loving care of his wife and daughters. The family will have a private memorial service. Born to Smysor and Jean (Hay) Bruce on November 3, 1940, in Indianapolis, Indiana, Dave graduated from Lawrence Central High School and often related fond memories of his early years when he raised show steers on his family’s farm in Oaklandon. He attended Purdue University and married his high school sweetheart and love of his life, Anita Kay (Bebee) Bruce. An engineering-type by nature, Dave spent his career as a mold maker in the plastics industry, and retired in 2007. Dave and Anita raised a family and lived for 20 years in south Florida before moving to South Carolina in 2001, where Dave eventually retired. Dave and Anita spent 16 happy years in the beautiful upstate area of South Carolina, where they enjoyed traveling and regular visits from their children and grandchildren. They returned to their hometown of Indianapolis in April of this year to live closer to family. A kind and generous man, much loved by his family and liked by everyone who met him, Dave was preceded in death by his parents, Smysor and Jean (Hay) Bruce, and brother, Craig Bruce. He is survived by his wife, Anita (Bebee) Bruce; sister, Nancy Bruce; daughters, Kim Staley (husband Clair) and Robyn Blair (husband Lance); sons, Tim Bruce and Brett Bruce. He is also survived by ten grandchildren: Abigail Bruce, Olivia Ritota, Amy Bruce, Trevor Fabbri, Brittany Fabbri, Michael Trittin, Sierra Blair, Amelia Blair, Mary Trittin and Haley Vivilo. One great-granddaughter, Aubrey Grace Fabbri, also survives Dave.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to St. Vincent Hospice.
