Clinnon (Pete) Tyson, Jr., was born in Marion to the union of the late Clinnon Tyson, Sr., and Sarah Tyson, who survives. He accepted Christ at the age of 9 and was baptized under the leadership of the late Rev. Dr. J. D. Williams at Greater Second Baptist Church.  He passed away October 7, 2018.

He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish. He was a member of the Jonesboro American Legion Post 95 and the Fraternal Order of Police. He retired Dec. 1, 2017, after 44 years of work – 33 years at RCA and 11 years at Bendix in Huntington.

He leaves to mourn his homegoing his wife, Judy; two sons, Scott (Jacque) Fernandes and Gabriel Reynolds; three daughters, Aimee (Roy) Pena, Kelly (William) Hannis and Farrah Auguste; three brothers, Richard (Dora) Tyson, Kevin (Zettie) Tyson and DeVol (Missy) Tyson; one sister, Zelda (Nae) Tyson; honorary brother Roy Perkins; 14 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and two goddaughters.

He was preceded in death by his father, Clinnon Tyson, Sr.; paternal grandparents Richard Tyson and Thelma Hill; maternal grandparents Irvin and Blara Fisher and sister-in-law Cathy Tyson.

Viewing will be from 10:30 am to noon Saturday, October 13, 2018, with a funeral service to follow at noon.  Viewing and funeral will both take place at Greater Second Baptist Church in Marion.

    My sincere condolences to Pete’s family. He was a great man to to work with and was loved by everyone at Bendix. We all hated to see him retire but were also very happy for him. He will be missed. God bless you all.
