Clarence Albert (Catron) Dix, 83, of Indianapolis, IN, passed away on May 31, 2018.
He was born in Beech Grove, IN on Feb. 7, 1935, to Mary Susan Shockency and Howard Edward Dix. Besides Indianapolis, he also lived in Grand Rapids, MI, and Seattle, WA. He loved living in Seattle and had many Native American friends.
Clarence was an avid traveler with unique stories to tell. He liked to talk and socialize. He was an animal lover and especially loved his dogs.
Clarence always loved his daughter, born Kimberly Sue, on March 17, 1986, in Indianapolis. He believed she was living in Grand Rapids, MI, and continued to search for her until his death.
Clarence became close to his great-niece, Sadie R. (Altum) Parrott, while in the nursing home and hospital. She gave him joy at the end of his life. He was looking forward to being with the Lord and died peacefully,
Clarence is survived by his daughter, and his brother, Harold Lee Dix. He was preceded in death by his brother, David Thomas Dix.
Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery in Brownsburg, IN, with graveside services on Friday, June 8, 2018, at 11:00 am.

We are Clarence’s neighbors and feel so sad to learn that Clarence had been ill and was in a nursing home. We certainly would have visited had we known. I had shared flower starts from our yard and he always walked over to let me know when something was blooming. Just a few weeks ago I took strawberry starts and hung on his gate. I noticed they hung there a couple of days, but then were gone. So thought he must have been away from home a couple of days.

He was interesting to visit and talk with, had such a kind and giving heart. We are sadden to know that he is no longer here on Church Street. Please feel free to call us. Richard and Judith Essex 317-902-3006
