
Cecil E. Couts, 90, Avon, IN passed away September 22, 2016.
Cecil was enlisted into the U.S. Army in October of 1944 at the age of 18 while still in high school and served in World War II in France and Germany. He was a member of the 12th Armored Division Hellcats and was a Sergeant and tank commander under General Omar Bradley.
He graduated from Oakland City University and worked and retired from Conrail where he worked as a locomotive engineer for many years. In his later years his passion was creating gospel tracks and handing them out to others. He was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Avon, Indiana for many years.
He is survived by his three sons, Dennis Couts (Valerie), Kerry Couts (Glenda), Kevin Couts (Margaret); six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren and two more on the way.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, September 30, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. with visitation from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at Faith Baptist Church 7090 E. US 36 Avon, IN 46123. Burial to immediately follow at Brownsburg Cemetery.
