On Tuesday, May 23rd as the new day’s dawn broke, Cantrelle awoke as he always did giving thanks for another day. Though his body was frail and tired, his spirit was full of grateful appreciation to be able to draw another determined breath every second he was graced on earth. He had been sick for over a decade. Cantrelle died this day. It was sudden and unexpected — a massive heart attack, at age 56 while traveling to work.

Cantrelle worked very hard to have a good life for his children as well as himself. His family and friends knew him only as a kind, mild-mannered, hardworking and devoted man. His greatest asset was his heart and how he loved. So many lives were changed by his presence and he is now forever in God’s Grace. Cantrelle gave his life to Christ Oct 23rd 2016. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Cantrelle attended school at 41 and Northwest High School. Prior to his sickness he enjoyed his many travels and capturing special moments. Many of his proudest moments involved those spent with his family, he was always happy to share conversations about his work ethic and children to anyone that would listen. He worked for Home Depot as a District Manager for over 20 yrs. as well as various other jobs. He moved from Indianapolis over 30 yrs. ago. He lived in multiple States which include: Los Angeles, Fullerton Ca, New Jersey, Macedonia Oh and Hoschton Georgia.

He was preceded in death by his beloved father Charles Johnson Sr and 2 brothers Charles Johnson Jr and Anthony Craig Johnson. He is survived by his Mother (Mary D Johnson and sisters Marshi Johnson, Gabrielle Williams and Veronia Johnson, (son) Cantrelle Raimone Johnson, and daughters Jennifer Rohr, and Brittany Hudson along with grandchildren – Jaylin Johnson, Jordan Johnson and Jaden Johnson.

A funeral service will be held at Noon on Saturday, June 10th at Indiana Funeral Care, Harry W Moore Chapel. Friends may call from 11 a.m. until service time. Cantrelle will be laid to rest at Washington Park North Cemetery on Monday, June 12, 2017 at 1 p.m.
