C. Ray Powell, 73, 0f Quincy, Indiana passed away on March 16, 2019. He was born on September 16, 1945 in Bowling Green, Kentucky. A Memorial Service will be held at 3 pm, Saturday, March 23, 2019 at Creekside House of Prayer, 10428 US Hwy 231, Quincy, Indiana 47456. Visitation will be held from 1:30 until the time of service.
Ray was an avid hunter and a lover of NASCAR. He was a member of the International Union of Brick Layers and Allied Craft Worker Local 4.
Ray is survived by his daughter Melissa (Dale) Rivers of Plainfield. He will also be greatly missed by his 9 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his daughter Shelly Lynn Phelps and mother Virgie Powell Sanson.

I am so sorry for your loss. I knew Ray from the cloverdale Travel plaza, where he came often to eat. Absolutely adored this man!! So precious and sweet, my heart is full of grief for you all in this time of loss. Ray was a good and kind man, whom I will hold in my heart forever! Ray will be forever loved and missed dearly.

We meet Ray at Lou’s resturant when it was in the gas station,he was always nice to us and confided in us when they found his cancer ,I would pass him on the road he would always wave,we will miss you Ray

I met Ray at the barn yard rest in Greencastle. we had a wonderful 8 years togetter he will be missed by me, son tony hastings daughter tanya dixon.and my 5 grandchildren he was a great man.we love to go to trade days, fishing, hores back riding have family gattering.i have never met a nicer man and will allways love him and be thankful for the time i got to spend with him.i never seen a strongerer minded man.he was so determined to take on anything that came his way.God was tried of seeing him miserable because his body was getting weaker and he was not able to do what he wanted to do.so god called him home.ray i want you to know i will allways love you and miss you forever.
