
Byron “Barney” Bose passed peacefully through the gates of Heaven the morning of Saturday, March 18, 2017, surrounded by his family.
Born August 31st, 1957 in Indianapolis to Donald Wayne Bose and Judith Rose (Bose) Marsh, Barney spent his childhood on Indianapolis’ East side where he attended IPS School #3 and Arsenal Technical High School. He enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps in 1975, serving until 1979, an experience that he would carry with him proudly throughout his life.
Barney married his long-time love Vicki (Roberts) Bose in 1981 before welcoming daughters Jaymie (Bose) Hunckler and Sarah Bose in 1982 and 1986, respectively. He proudly bore the moniker “Papaw” to grandchildren Brooke and Aiden Hunckler, the two most recent loves of his life.
In addition to Vicki, Jaymie, Sarah, Brooke and Aiden, Barney is survived by Son-in- Law Brad Hunckler, brother Donald Bose of Indianapolis and sister Sheila Lagle of Westmoreland, Tennesee. He was preceded in death by each of his parents, sister Ellen (Bose) Freeman and brother Dave “Pug” Williamson
Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m., Thursday, March 23, 2017 at Indiana Funeral Care, 8151 Allisonville Rd, Indianapolis. The family will greet friends from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. A grave side Military service will follow at Crown Hill Cemetery
