Beverly Joan Loomer Chaddock Milgate, 89, departed this life on March 14, 2019. She was born in Waverly, Iowa, raised in Bellwood Illinois and lived in Indianapolis for 53 years. Beverly always loved music. At 4, she began playing piano, learned the accordion and even performed on the radio. She joined St. Paul’s Episcopal Church and was a long-time member of the choir. A highlight of her time at St Paul’s was a trip traveling through England singing with the choir. Beverly was also a member of the Propylaeum and the Shepard Center.
Beverly was employed full time and when she retired, became an active volunteer. She was a member of the Indianapolis Symphony Woman’s Committee and enjoyed volunteering at the performances. Attending the symphony was a favorite pastime. Beverly loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren with all of her heart, and they were a great joy and comfort to her after she suffered a debilitation stroke 4 years ago.
Beverly is survived by her two daughters, Susan (Cleve) Brown and Kathy Gill, along with her grandchildren Cleve Whitney (Ellen) Brown and their children Stella, Walker, and Fletcher, Joseph Taylor Brown (Jean Marie) and their son Winston, Hillary Brown (Brian Wilson) and Ian Gill. She was preceded in death by her brother William, mother Mildred, father Morris, and husbands Edward Chaddock and Melvin Milgate.
The family wishes to thank Green House Cottages of Carmel for the wonderful care they provided over the last 4 years and to Premier Hospice for the end of her life care.
Funeral services will be at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church on Thursday, March 21 at 11am with visitation at 10am and a reception immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donation to the St. Paul’s Episcopal Church music program.
