Betty Reed, 70, died July 27, 2017 at St. Vincent Anderson Regional Hospital after a brief illness. She was born in Anderson, Indiana on September 27, 1946 to Martha L. (Jones) Reed and Edward F. Reed who proceeded her in death.

She worked at Meijer until her retirement. She spent her time watching her beloved Sci-Fy channel, doing crosswords puzzles, reading Steven King novels, drinking coffee, and going to the James Dean Festival where she got to splurge on her love of artistic creations and food.  She never met an animal that she didn’t instantly fall in love with, feeding all the stray cats of the neighborhood.  She loved and cared for any one that came into her life, thinking of others before herself.

She is survived by her 3 sisters Doris (Jim) Phillips, Sharon Ripberger and Brenda (Les) Brown; loving daughter Lynn (Kevin) Sheets; grandchildren Rob Brown, Jason (Donna) Sheets, Sabrina Brown, Ricky Sheets, Kayla Rummel; great-grandchildren Natalia Sheets, Maria Sheets, Zephyr Lacy all of Anderson; 3 nieces and 4 nephews; many great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews; and many many friends. She is preceded in death by Bill Ripberger. Her cremation was handled by Indiana Funeral Care.
