Barry Allen Gibbons I, 66, passed away September 16, 2016 peacefully at his home in Anderson, IN.  He was born September 16, 1950 in Anderson, IN where he was a life long resident.  He worked for Anderson Mattress Factory for 30+ years serving as union president for his company for many of those years.  He was a published author, copy written song writer, former business owner of Cool World Ice Cream, an avid Jimmy Buffett fan, die hard Colts fan, a certified umpire and coached little league softball and baseball.  Barry is survived by his wife Sue (Gaw) Gibbons, daughter Michelle (Henry) Hogue, son Barry (Darlene) Gibbons II , daughter Christina (Scot) Stanley, son Scott Shuck (Paula Leigh), daughter Teresa (Doug) Stanley, 2 grandsons Dustin Gilmer and Zachary Gibbons, 5 granddaughters Rene Benson, Kaylynn Kendall, Ashley Young, Alexis Stanley, Kyndal Stanley, 3 great granddaughters Skye Cardwell, Danielle Benson, Kyleigh Kaelin, 2 sisters Priscilla (Buzz) Johnson and Mary Johnson, 3 brothers Bob (Darlene) Gibbons, RJ (Debbie) Gibbons, Kenny Gibbons, best friend Francis (Rita) Robinson and numerous nieces and nephews.  He was proceeded in death by his parents Richard Gibbons and Betty Baker, brother David Gibbons, sister Rhonda Johnson, brother in law Darrell Johnson and sister in law Rita Gibbons.  

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to help cover the funeral expenses.
