Barbara Ellen Young, 75, of Indianapolis/Greenwood, passed away on September 15, 2019. She was born in March of 1944 in Indianapolis. She later worked for and retired from Link Belt. After retirement she worked off and on at a variety of places, Select Sewing Service, Jo-Ann Fabric, Kittles, Sherwin Williams. These, after retirement jobs, allowed her to do the things she loved, sewing and was an excellent seamstress. She made Joyce’s wedding dress, bridesmaids dresses, and all the hats they wore also. The nieces were lucky to have Aunt Bobbie and Grandma Fink make doll clothes for their dolls when growing up. Each doll had their own wardrobe. She loved decorating and helping people find the right colors or furniture items for their homes.
She is survived by her brother-in-law Glen (Jackie) Young, step-daughter, Joyce (Allen) Roettger, step-son-in-law David Miller, two step-grandchildren, Amber Roettger and Matthew Young, nine nieces and nephews Jacqueline (Steven) Cheh, Dawn (Kevin) Goldsby, Brian Fink, Holly Smith, Donald Harrington, Jesse (Ginger) Harrington, David (Misty) Harrington, William (Caryn) Fink, Jody (Jim) Munger and a host of great and great-great nieces and nephews, as well as friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Norman Young. Step-daughter Michelle Miller, Mother Barbara Fink, Father William H Fink, siblings, Martha (John) Politz, Betty Lou Fink, Freda Delores (Donald) Harrington, William L (Darlene) Fink.
Visitation will be held from 2:30 p.m. until the Funeral Service at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, September 23, 2019 at Indiana Funeral Care – Greenwood Chapel, 2433 East Main Street, Greenwood, Indiana 46143. Interment will follow in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, 734 North Morgantown Road, Greenwood, Indiana 46142.
