
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 25 at Indiana Funeral Care; Harry W. Moore Chapel at 11:30 am. Visitation will be on Wednesday, August 24 from 5-7 pm at the same location. Arrangements entrusted to Indiana Funeral Care.
Barbara Joan (Hiott) Perisho, 86, passed away on August 20, 2016 with her daughters by her side. While Barbara was an Indianapolis native, Cottageville, South Carolina was her second home. She was born on September 13, 1929 to the late Walter and Pearl Hiott.
Barbara graduated from IUPUI in 1976 with a B.A. of Library Science. She cherished music and loved to sing. Barbara was a member of the Indianapolis Community Choir and Purdue Extension Choir. She was a lifetime member of First Meridian Heights Presbyterian Church where she served as an Elder, sang with the church choir, and was a long-time member of P.W.O. After 25 years of a dedicated career with MSD Lawrence Township, Barbara retired in 1992.
In 1951, Barbara met her future husband Robert Perisho. After a fairytale year of courtship, the two were married in a romantic ceremony in Germany. Barbara was blessed to be wed nearly 56 years to the love of her life, Robert, before he passed away.
Barbara is survived by: her children, Nancy (Mark) McDonnell, Deb (Rick) Boothman and Beth (Fred) Bonfils; Laurel (Matthew) Marnocha, Joe (Bridget) McDonnell, Mike McDonnell, Laura Boothman, Courtney (Josh) Teter, Kelsey Bonfils (John Byron); great-grandchildren Aiden Boothman and Mia Marnocha.
She was preceded in death by her husband Robert; her parents, Walter and Pearl; and her brothers, Randy and Harris.
