Barbara C. Burk, 92, passed away May 15, 2014.
She was born November 29, 1921 in Jacksonville, Florida, the daughter of Eugene and Josalina (Raybon) Kessler. She grew up primarily in New Orleans.
Barbara met and married her husband, Harold James Burk, during WWII when he was stationed in New Orleans, and then moved to his home state of Indiana.
Barbara was a deacon at Northminster Presbyterian Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1995. She is survived by her children, James Harold (Janet) Burk and Barbara Jo (Ted) Kennedy; and grandchildren, Michael and Elaine Burk.
Her sense of humor will be missed by everyone.
A memorial service will be held Monday, May 19, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Northminster Presbyterian Church, 1660 Kessler Blvd. E. Dr., Indianapolis, IN 46220, with time for calling after the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to the Indianapolis Humane Society.

We are sorry we cannot attend your mother’s service. We are in New Orleans, LA. celebrating the birth of our first grandchild. In case Barbara Jo doesn’t remember, we used lived next door to your Uncle Ernie and also knew your parents. We never had the privelige of meeting James. We visited Barbara sometime back at American Village and had a nice time with her. Again, our condolences,
