Ashley B. Acevedo, 10 of Indianapolis, passed away peacefully on November 5th.  Ashely was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on September 7th, 2007. She was the Daughter of Abel Acevedo and Vianney Hernandez.  Ashely is survived by both of her parents and a younger brother, Iker Acevedo, 8.

In early October, Ashley was diagnosed with a disease called Scleroderma.  Scleroderma is a rare disease, especially in children. In early October she was admitted to Riley hospital. After 4 weeks in the hospital, with a terminal prognosis, she asked her father to take her home to spend the rest of her days in peace and quiet with her family.

Ashley was an amazing 10-year-old girl who was wise beyond her years.  She was a devoted student at Harrison Hills Elementary school and was loved by all of her teachers and schoolmates.  Ashley was an exemplary student. She was bright, devoted, artistic, kind, honest, thoughtful, determined and full of life.  She enjoyed reading, art, spending time with her dad, brother and her best friends. She loved music, watching YouTube videos and her favorite color was purple.

Ashely touched the lives of many with her caring ways and her big, bright smile.  She will be greatly missed by all of those who were blessed to know such a beautiful Angel like her.

The family finds comfort in knowing that they will see her again one day.

Services will take place on Friday, November 10th at Indiana Funeral Care.  The viewing will take place from 11-1pm with a memorial service promptly following.

Just want you to know that you will forever be in my heart! You are sadly missed, but I thank God I got to meet such a precious girl like you! The tattoo I promised you is done, and I wish you had the chance to see it! Our “Brady” family will always keep your memory alive until we see you again! I love you Ashley, you always said you was my “mexican child”, and I am honored you chose me to be your “american dad”!

    “Fly”

    Fly, fly little wing
    Fly beyond imagining
The softest cloud, the whitest dove
Upon the wind of heaven’s love
Past the planets and the stars
Leave this lonely world of ours
Escape the sorrow and the pain
    And fly again

    Fly, fly precious one
    Your endless journey has begun
    Take your gentle happiness
    Far too beautiful for this
Cross over to the other shore
    There is peace forevermore
    But hold this mem’ry bittersweet
    Until we meet

    Fly, fly do not fear
    Don’t waste a breath, don’t shed a tear
Your heart is pure, your soul is free
Be on your way, don’t wait for me
    Above the universe you’ll climb
On beyond the hands of time
The moon will rise, the sun will set
    But I won’t forget

    Fly, fly little wing
    Fly where only angels sing
Fly away, the time is right
    Go now, find the light

Our little Ashley…your Brady family loves and misses you!! Johnny, Licia, & kids
