Annabelle (Ann) Mary Kafoure Freije, 89, departed this life peacefully in her sleep on January 9, 2015. Born on February 16, 1925, she was the daughter of Frank and Julia Kalil Kafoure. She was a resident of Indianapolis, retiring in Zionsville. Ann graduated from Ben Davis High School and married the love of her life, Frederick M. Freije. Together they managed Freije’s Pharmacy for many years. Her parents and her loving husband preceded her in death, as did her brother John Kafoure. She is survived by her children, George Freije, Brenda (Jack) FitzSimons, Elaine (Brent) Eckhart, and Bruce (Dolores) Freije; sister Patricia (Bill) Freije; eight grandchildren, John, David (Karla) and Anne FitzSimons, Bruce, Scott, and Jeff Freije, Laura (Jack) Murakami, and Bill Eckhart; two great-granddaughters, Gloria Ann FitzSimons and Alice Agia Murakami; and several nieces and nephews.
Ann was devoted to her family and her church. She prepared many fabulous family dinners, a tradition that her children have continued. She was the Girl Scout troop leader for both of her daughters, becoming a role model for many young women along the way. During her active years, she volunteered at the Hussey-Mayfield Library in Zionsville. She was also an avid quilter. Ann was a life-long member of St. George Antiochian Orthodox Christian Church, receiving both the St. George Award and the Midwest Diocese Metropolitan Philip award from the Antiochian Orthodox Christian Women for her many years of dedicated service and leadership.
The family wishes to thank the caregivers from Visiting Angels, most recently, Toni Taylor, Willette Tevis, and Lakreisha Heard.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. George Orthodox Church.

God placed Ann in my life when there was a need and she filled a void like no other. I will forever miss her smile as she would ask me for another piece of chocolate candy! I thank GOD for every day that I was blessed to share with her.
