Alma Jean James was born on June 11, 1939 in England, Arkansas, the daughter of Manuel and Mozella Jones James. Her parents and siblings preceded her in death.

Jean professed a hope in Christ at an early age. She was a member of Nazarene Missionary Baptist Church.

Jean retired from Caldron Brothers. In her spare time, she enjoyed watching Matlock, cooking and baking.

Alma Jean James departed this lie on Monday, April 17, 2017 at the age of 77 years, to go home to be with the Lord. Jean was loved by her family and she will be deeply missed by all.

Alma Jean leaves to cherish her memories, three sisters-in-law, Lucille, Doris, Terry James; a host of nieces and nephews, and a best friend of 56 years, Francis Terry aka Willie Sue; and five God-children and one deceased; and many other relatives and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 28, 2017 at Nazarene Baptist Church, 3505 E. 38th Street, Indianapolis, IN. Jean will be laid to rest at Crown Hill Cemetery following her service.
