Dear Paul, Steve, and Leslie
I have been thinking of your Dad, not only since his death but before as well. Like your Mom, and Uncle Sam and Aunt Mary, Uncle Bill was a meaningful part of my life growing up. While I haven’t seen him so much recently, I have spoken with him a few times, especially when we had a ’Kafoure’ question. His genuine smile, with which he greeted me face to face, continued with an unmistakable audible smile on the phone. I am honored that he had me in his thoughts when he wrote his funeral plans.
Leslie, it was so good to speak with you on Tuesday. I am looking forward to receiving a copy of the Kafoure history.
I will make a donation to a charity in Uncle Bill’s name.
Be well.
Charlie

Bill was a kind, gentle man with a wonderful sense of humor. When I visit my dad, Robert Pickett, at The Forum, I always go with him to eat breakfast with his friends. I enjoyed getting to know Bill during those memorable breakfasts. I remember his twinkling eyes and warm smile, and he always had a kind word to say. Dad considered Bill his dearest friend and misses him very much as we all do. I am so glad to have known Bill and shared many wonderful conversations with him over the last several years. Bill will be missed, but it was a joy and pleasure to have known him.
My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
Warmly,
Nancy

Dear Wm Paul, Steve, and Leslie and your families- Remembering Uncle Bill as one of the kindest, gentlest people I have ever known. I have chosen to take the good parts from the community in which we were raised. Most of those parts have to do with the people. UB is certainly high on that list. Love Charlie
