Walter Colton, 80, of Noblesville, Indiana, passed away Tuesday, May 13, 2008. He was born October 17, 1927 in Berea, Ohio. He was employed as an accountant at Bankers Life and Casualty for 25+ years and served in the U.S. Army between 1945 and 1947. Walter is survived by three daughters, Cathy (Steven), Betsy (James) andLaurie (Evan). He is also survived by his sister, Dottie (Lawrence) Blair of Denver, CO; four grandchildren, Nicholas, Matthew, Jeremy and Zachary; and his faithful dog, Nellie. Walter was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Sally; brother, Willard; and parents Walter, Sr. and Mary. He was deeply committed to working with community organizations, especially on behalf of public education and more recently with Grundy County Habitat for Humanity. He had an avid interest in folk music and a great love of reading. Funeral services will be at St. Michael’s Episcopal Church, Noblesville, IN, at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 17, with Fr. Lee Schaefer officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 18, at Braceville Gardner Cemetery in Braceville, IL. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Parkinson’s Awareness Foundation of Central Indiana or St. Michael’s Episcopal Church, Noblesville, Indiana.
