Virgil N. Kleeman, 81, of Shirley, IN, passed away Sunday, November 4. He was born September 10, 1931 in Tell City, IN, the son of Edmund and Verna Kleeman He was raised by his aunt and godmother, Dorothy. Virgil attended St. Paul Catholic School in Tell City, Indiana. He proudly served his country in the Army. Virgil was a retired auto body repairman and mechanic. He enjoyed gardening, building furniture, working on vehicles and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Hall Kleeman; daughters, Robyn (Sean) Monaghan, Pamela (Jeff) Hallal, Lisa (Donald) Scott, Cynthia (Robert) Lloyd, Mary (Jamon) Jack; daughter-in-law, Jenny Lou; sisters, Eva Knable of Tell City, Louise Hendrickson of Tell City, Darlene Kleemann of Indianapolis, and Danita Gilbert of Indianapolis; and 24 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren. Virgil was preceded in death by his son, Virgil Edmond Kleeman; sisters, Edna Kelly, Willmetta Cherry, and Augusta Bailey; and his brother, Bernard.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, November 9th in the Chapel at College Park Church, 2606 W. 96th Street, Indianapolis, IN 46268. Friends may greet the family after the service. Virgil’s final resting place will be at Crown Hill Cemetery, Field of Valor, at a later date. Arrangements made by Indiana Funeral Care.
