Victor Aaron Myers, 96, passed away May 18, 2012. He was born July 30, 1915 in Upland, Indiana, to Aura Margaret Outland Myers Ballinger and Thomas Courtney Myers.
Vic is a 1933 graduate of Upland High School. He was a Chief Electrician in the U.S. Navy during World War II. His lifetime work involved car upholstery and canvas covers for pleasure crafts.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Martha May Rouse; brother, George T. Myers; sisters, Vivien Freese and Mildred Rathburn; and his parents.
Vic is survived by his daughters, Vicki Willman and Stephanie (Michael) Schweitzer; grandchildren, Laura (Brian) Leist of Coldwater, MI, Jason Willman of Miami Beach, FL, Nicholas Schweitzer of Chicago, IL, Scott (Barb) Schweitzer of Indianapolis, IN, and Gregory (Manny Shane) Schweitzer of Evanston, IL; great-grandchildren, Alison Schweitzer, Cameron Leist, Victor Schweitzer, Anastasia Schweitzer, Spencer Leist, Michel Angela Schweitzer, Zackary Schweitzer, Bryton Schweitzer, and Gryffin Schweitzer.
He was a lifetime member of the AmVets and Veterans of Foreign Wars, and a member of the American Legion.
In lieu of flowers, please give donations to the Indiana War Memorial Flag Restoration Project, 431 N. Meridian St., Indianapolis, IN 46204.
Friends may call from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Monday, May 21 at Harry W. Moore Funeral Care, 8151 Allisonville Rd., Indianapolis. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 22 at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Hartford City Cemetery.
