Date Of Birth: February 1, 1931
Date Of Death: March 17, 2011

Bob was born on Feb. 1, 1931 in Petersburg, IN to Barbara (Aspel) Ice and Albert Ice. He was a graduate of Washington High, in Washington, IN. Before graduating from Hanover College, he proudly served four years in the U.S. Navy. He earned a Master’s Degree and Superintendent’s certificate from Indiana University. He coached at Jac-Cen-Del High school, and was principal at Moores Hill, Prairie Heights and North Knox High Schools.

Bob was the director of schoolhouse Planning with the State of Indiana from 1972-78, where he worked closely with architects and engineers. Later in his career, Bob used his experiences as VP of Marketing, developing both public and private products at several architectural firms.

Bob is survived by his sister, Betty Schiffli. He leaves his wife of 51 years, June (Zuverink) Ice, and their children, Karen, Roger and Sandra, as well as grandsons Conner and Jordan.

A memorial service will be held Sat., March 26, at 1:30 p.m. at Grace Community Church, 5504 E. 146th St, Noblesville, IN. In Lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association.

Bob loved the sport of basketball, voted most outstanding player at Washington High School in 1948 and 1949. He went on to play for both Hanover and the U.S. navy. An injury may have taken him out of the game early; however, Bob’s passion for the sport never faded. Friends may view his online guestbook at www.harrywmoore.com

I worked with Bob in the 1970’s at the Indiana Department of Education. He was a “good school man”. I am sorry to see his passing.

June and family, I was sorry to read of Bob’s passing. I remember when he came to Osgood and when the 2 of you were married. Mom and Dad always thought a lot of both of you. It doesn’t seem possible that so much time goes by so quickly. I’m just glad we got to visit with you and Bob at the Alumni dinner a couple of years ago when Andrea’s class was the Honor Class from Osgood. Darrell and I were in the last OHS class before it became Jac Cen Del. We will keep you in our thoughts and prayers. Warmest Condolences, Jenene and Darrell

    June & children:

Bob was special and you know. I was blessed to room with him, have him as a friend and learn from him about the importance of our jobs in education.

I will always remember the honor and dignity he showed to my parents over the years. As he traveled throughout the state while in School House Planning he would drop in on them and “make their day”.

Now and then he did the same for me.

We are sorry we cannot attend his service because of a family birthday event scheduled on the same day and time of his memorial.

We want the family to know that he was special and appreciated for all the kindness he showed to others throughout his undefined Bless Him and care for all of you during this difficult time.

June, I am truly sorry to hear about your loss. It has been some time since we have been together at ADPi Alum meetings, and I never expected to connect in this way. I know God is with you and your family. Love, Gerry
