Robert E. “Bob� Hittle, 64, passed away April 10, 2012 at his home.
He was in the first graduating class of Arlington High School. Bob graduated from Purdue University in 1969, and was a certified forester. He worked for the Indiana State Highway Department when he graduated as a landscape architect. He later worked for D.E. McGillen as an environmental specialist. Bob always said he was proud of all the design projects he had completed to make Indiana roads better. He retired from American Structure Point in 2009.
Bob had been in Boy Scout Troop #1, and later worked with his son’s Troop #174. He also was a member of Ducks Unlimited, and the Washington Township Parents’ Council. Bob was a member of First Baptist Church, where he also served as a Little League Coach.
Bob was always happy to be a part of his son’s and daughter’s activities as they grew up. He is survived by his wife of nearly 42 years, Sue Hittle, who he grew up with; a daughter, Kristin Marie Hittle; and a son, Kevin Michael Hittle and his wife Katy.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 14, 2012 at First Baptist Church, 8600 N. College Ave., Indianapolis, with calling for one hour prior to the service.
Memorial Donations may be directed to Purdue Forestry Department or First Baptist Church.
Harry W. Moore Funeral Care is in charge of arrangements.

    Kristin and Kevin, I was so sorry to see your dad’s obituary in the paper. I remember him as being full of enthusiasm and pride about what you two were doing, and he always had that great smile on his face. Give your mom a hug for me and always keep your dad close to your heart.
