I really didn’t know Rick personally but felt like I did. He never failed to say “good morning” or “have a good night” to me everyday at work (603 Washington Street). Everyone I have spoke with has had the same comments of how nice he was to all of us. My thoughts and prayers are with your family at this difficult time.

Mr. Shipley was such a delightful person. Even if the sun wasn’t shining in the morning he had this way of brightening up the lobby at work (603 E. Washington Street) with his smile and kindness. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends he will be truly missed by many!

My heart truly goes out to you and your family at such a sudden and tragic loss. Rick and I were working to get the 603 East Washington Bldg. in perfect shape and safe for everyone that works in the building. I work on the 2nd and 3rd floors. He was such a wonderful person to work with and to talk to. He always made us smile and feel protected. I guess that God needed another angel. He picked a perfect one for the job.

I remember growing up with you guys on N. 16th street. Rick was always a great guy . I even remember when he worked at St. Francis hospital, I would see him from time to time and we would catch up. May the Lord be with you all at your time of need.

You never knew a stranger, you always had a smile and kind word for everyone. I remember you coaching our girls softball team “Sahm Concrete” (mostly all St Francis employees” and you giving my son Daniel his first haircut at 4 months. All of the time we spent together (your family and ours) Daniel says he misses his buddy Rick, his laugh and his “nuggies”…We will always love you and never forget you..

I just learned of Rick’s passing today. I was in shock. I worked with Rick at St Francis Hospital. He always looked out for us and was ready to help at the drop of a hat. He was a true friend. He always talked about his family and how proud he was of his kids. He will be sadly missed.
