Story Title: My Aunt Renetta
By: Ruby Hebel
My Aunt Renetta was a constant source and love and support for me throughout my 57 years. She and my Uncle Fred were role models for me in their married and religious lives. I could always go to Renetta in times of trouble and celebration, knowing I had her full attention and understanding.
She was beautiful inside and out. What a fabulous dresser she was. She took pride in her home and loved to spend time tending to her yard and garden. Renetta was very proud of her years of service at HNTB and celebrated this at a retirement party in her honor on 2nd of last December. She also enjoyed being a member of St. Christophers for many years where she had a cherished church family and where she volunteer her time and talents.
Renetta loved her family of sisters and brothers, and she burned up the telephone lines chatting to them as often as she could. She loved to know what was going on with everyone and while she loved to talk, she was a great listener. She loved life and liked to have a good time. This gal loved to entertain and loved to be a guest.
She was always ready to go somewhere, and she invariably packed too much:-)
I am so grateful for her being in my life, and I pray she is reunited now with Fred and her family in heaven. My life will be changed now that she is gone, but her memory will remain strong in my mind and heart. I am most grateful for the way she loved me, and what a privilege it was to know and love her!!!

Renetta will be greatly missed but her life should be celebrated in a great way. She was one of the most kind and gentle people I have ever known. Heaven gained a great Angel.

We are deeply saddened and wish to express our sincerest condolences to Renetta’s family and friends. We have only the fondest memories of Renetta and will always remember her contagious smile, her warm and loving nature, and the happiness she brought to all who knew her. She was a truly lovely person and will forever remain special in our hearts. Karen, Kathy, and David George and their families all pray for Robyn and Kelly and their families.

My sympathies, prayers, and thoughts with the family. Renetta was such a pleasure to work with at HNTB. I loved talking to her about her family and working on her genealogy with her. I remember when Greyson was born and she spoke about him constantly. It was nice to see her so bubbly and excited. She was an amazing woman and she always brightened my day. May your family find peace and calm during this time.
DON WRIGHT says
For me Renetta was a very special patient and eventually an even more significant friend. She had a very special personality and gift of conversation that somehow was more meaningful than the average banter. Renetta made you feel that how you felt and what you were doing was the most important thing in the world. Getting to know her family has been a emotional and special time over the last few months. She has a wonderful daughter in Robin. I choose to believe she is with Fred and all that have gone before her and she will be there when it comes our time.

I worked with Renetta many years ago at Roche (Bio-Dynamics). It was a true joy working with her. She taught me several things concerning grammar, which I still use to this day. So whenever I’m about to end a sentence with a preposition, I think of Renetta. Steve King

I am sorry I could not be present for the visitation or service for Renetta, but I assure you my thoughts were with you today. I worked with Renetta for several years, and she was never without a smile and friendly words for her co-workers. She was feisty, spunky, sincere, dedicated, and entirely wonderful. Above all, she was a lady. I miss her, but I’m glad I was able to share a bit of my time here on earth with her.

Renetta is the best girl friend I made since I moved to Indianapolis in 1994. I had worked with her for a while. Later, when we weren’t working together anymore, we had so much fun being friends. We both love to shop, had lunches also and enjoyed having fun. We both shared a lot of the same values about life in general. She was very proud of her children and grandchildren. I will miss her dearly. We need more people around like her. She is gone way too soon from this life.
