Ray D. (R.D.) Miller II, 74, of Indianapolis, passed on August 3, 2013. He was born on August 30, 1938 in Indianapolis, the son of Dr. Ray Miller and Mary Jane Miller Smith. He graduated from Martinsville High School. R.D. was a member of the Air Force, Army, and National Guard, from which he retired. He was a Marion County Jail Correctional Officer, and retired from the Marion County Sheriff’s Department.

He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Dianna; sons, Chris and Kyle; stepsons, Ron (Denise) Shue Jr. and Kevin (Patti) Shue; stepdaughter, Lisa Lemons; grandchildren: Noah, Samantha, Cody, Tori, Trey, Jennifer, Ronnie, Casey, Kaiden, Aaron, Brittany and Alexis; 3 great grandchildren; and sister, Shirley Jean (Mike) Piacquadio. He was preceded in death by his parents.

A funeral service will be at 1 p.m. on Thursday, August 8 at Indiana Funeral Care and Crematory, Harry W Moore Chapel, 8151 Allisonville Road, Indianapolis, IN 46250. Friends may call from 11 a.m. until service time. R.D. will be laid to rest at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, Greenwood with military honors.     RD was my classmate in Martinsville so many years ago. I left Indiana in 1962 for the west coast and tried to get to as many reunions as possible. RD and his family were
    wonderful people. I am so sorry your family
    has lost him. Rest in peace, RD. We will all
    miss you!
