My deepest sympathy to Ralph’s family. I was a member of the Zionsville Band prior to moving to Illinois at the end of June. Ralph was always a friendly and cheerful person, and it was a pleasure to have made his acquaintance.

Ralph was one of the small group of “charter” members of the Zionsville Concert Band. I was hoping that Ralph would one day return to the tuba section. All who knew him will miss his pleasant demeanor and musical talents.
My thoughts are with you during this difficult time.

I enjoyed sharing stories of our service in the Army Band with Ralph and enjoyed our time together in the Zionsville Concert Band. I was also a childhood friend of Greg Scott, and worked with his son in musicals at Zionsville. I was glad to have known Ralph, and have missed his enthusiastic playing in our band.

My profound sympathy to Ralph’s family for your loss. I greatly enjoyed our talks about music, the military, and life in general. His contribution to the Zionsville Concert Band was invaluable and his love of music was very evident. Working with Ralph, in the band, was a pleasure and I will miss his musicianship as well as his positive outlook on life.

Taunya Welch says
God looked around his Garden and found an empty place.
He then looked down upon his earth and saw your loving face.
He put his arms around you and lifted you to rest.
His Garden must be beautiful, he always takes the best.
He knew that you were suffering; he knew you were in pain.
And knew that you would never get well on earth again.
He saw your path was difficult; he closed you tired eyes,
He whispered to you “Peace be Thine” and gave you wings to fly.
When we saw you sleeping so calm and free of pain,
We would not wish you back to earth to suffer once again.
You’ve left us precious memories; your love will be our guide,
You live on through your children; you’re always by our side.
It broke our hearts to lose you, but you did not go alone.
For part of us went with you on the day God called you home
Denise Pierce says
Ralph clearly demonstrated his passion for music during his time with the Zionsville Concert Band. For younger members, he was a testimony to the fact that music brings joy to self and to others.
May family and friends cherish memories of Ralph – I know I will.
