Paul E. Sawyers, 80, passed away on February 19, 2011. He was born in Indianapolis, IN on May 27, 1930 to the late Harry and Bessie Sawyers.

Paul grew up in the care of his late aunt and uncle, Pearl and Walter Davis. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 57 years Helen M. (Weakley) Sawyers, whom he married on December 27, 1952. Paul is survived by two sons; Michael, Greenfield, IN and Thomas, Hempstead, TX, brother-in-law; Clarence, sister-in-law; Dorothy Smith both of Shelbyville, IN and sister-in-law; Ida of Greenfield, IN. He is preceded in death by his brother Richard and sister Grace.

Paul graduated from Warren Central High School. He was in the U.S. Air Force from 1951-1955 and served in the Korean War. Paul worked for Western Electric for 34 years. He was a member of the Lawrence United Methodist Church, Masonic Lodge, and Pioneers of America. Paul was well liked by all who knew him and enjoyed being around people.

Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. on Thursday, February 24, 2011 and Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, February 25, 2011 at Harry W. Moore Funeral Care. Burial at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens to follow.
