Odis was born to Pinkie & Marcus Baker on Jun 16, 1941. He was the 11th of 13 children. Odis was preceeded in death by his father Marcus and his mother Pinkie, his sisters Rose, Liz, Lily, Cora Lee, his brothers Eddie, Richard, Ronald, and Kenneth. Throughout his life he served his country in the US Airforce and the US Army. Thereafter he continued to serve his community by holding various positions with the Federal government, as well as city and state governments. In 1967 he married Evelyn Moore; she preceded him in death in 1971. He leaves to cherish his memoty two sisters, Annie Cooper and Eleanor Fields; two brothers Marcus Baker Jr. and Eugene Baker; four children Amelio, Joselyn, Chester, and Edward; nine grandchildren, Angelique, Nathan, Gabrielle, Cody, Dakota, Arizona, Peter Jr., Odis, and Rakim.Odis was known for his sense of humor and his ability to help others. He was hard working and independent. He was also known to have all of the latest gadgets and electronics- that was one of his hobbies. He enjoyed making home movies and taking photos, as well as listening to music, singing, and dancing. He was loved by many and will be missed and remembered indefinitely. “Daddy I will miss you. I had the pleasure of meeting Odis when he was stationed at Red Bluff Air Force Base, over 45 years ago. He will always be in my heart.

To the Baker family: I had known Odis since we were in our teens, I was younger and Odis was 3 years older, he was station in Red Bluff, Calif. We kept in touch for a little while, and not until I moved back to Redding, did we catch up with each other on line, It was very nice to hear from a old friend I will miss him, he was always nice and concern.
