Norman G. Applegate Sr, 71, of Indianapolis, passed peacefully from this life Friday, December 25, 2009. He was born in Indianapolis, IN on February 6, 1938, the son of the late Bertram Helmuth and Sedellamae (Wiseheart) Applegate. He was a Heating & Air Conditioning instructor for 35 years at local colleges and companies. Norm is survived by his three sons, Norman Jr, Lenard Ray (Brenda), Waylon Keith (Robin) and fourth son, Rubin “The Bird”; granddaughters, Teresa Michelle, Deboralea Lucretia and Amber Nicole; great grandchildren, Alexis Marie, Michaelea Sue, Jacobi Fabian and Natalli Lynn. He was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, 5 months, and 7 days, Joyce V. (Coffey) Applegate. Visitation will be Tuesday, December 29 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Harry W. Moore Funeral Care, 8151 Allisonville Rd, Indianapolis. Funeral Service will be at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 30 at the funeral home. Interment will be at Washington Park East Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, 5635 W. 96th St., Ste 100, Indianapolis, IN 46278.
