Date Of Birth: July 14, 1952
Date Of Death: August 28, 2013
Norbert Francis Cassidy Jr. of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away Wednesday August 28, 2013 at the age of 61.
Norbie, as he was affectionately called, spent his most recent years living a quiet life on his sister Elaine’s farm in New Ross, IN where he died of heart problems. While being an avid reader of detective novels, following his favorite sports teams, and collecting baseball cards, his most treasured moments were spent in the seclusion of the country taking care of his favorite cat Orange and beloved dogs Frisky and Kay.
His easy going personality, quick wit, and often inappropriate words of wisdom will be treasured and missed dearly by his surviving siblings Elaine, Nancy and Matthew Cassidy, along with the young man he thought of as his own son Andrew Mackey. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mabel L. and Norbert F. Cassidy Sr. and his long time love and partner, Sheila Stewart.
Memorial service and condolences may be shared Saturday September 21st from 11:30 A.M. until 1:30 P.M. at the Indiana Funeral Care, Harry W. Moore Chapel, 8151 Allisonville Road, Indianapolis, IN 46250. In lieu of flowers or gifts to the family please make charitable donations to your favorite animal support organization. A family reunion to accommodate a celebration of life will be organized for later this year.

Norbie’s sense of humor and sports acumen will be sorely missed by those who knew and loved him. I regret not knowing of the service time and date but my lack of physical presence does not diminish my compassion and prayers for the family.
Susie Jeffers Higgins says
Matt, I’m not sure if you will remember me. Back in the late 70s my friend Marcia Muller dated Norb and you and I dated for a while. I lived on the southside. I just wanted to tell you how sorry I was to hear of his passing. You and your family are in my prayers. I hope life has treated you well. When you get a moment, let me know how you are doing. So sorry for your loss.

Elaine, I was on Facebook and thought of you. Saw this and recognized Norbert as your brother. 4 years ago!
You live on a farm? Doesn’t seem like you. Sorry for your loss.
