Poems of Love: For Aunt Frances
When a soul departs the earth, do you think the angels cry? Do they, like us, see death as loss and ask Our Father, “Why?” Or do they open their arms real wide and welcome home a friend Knowing it’s just the struggles of life that have finally come to an end… The struggles to pay the bills, the struggles to live with the pain, The struggles to face some obstacles alone once again. Struggles are a part of life as surely as we all must die, But to join God in Heaven is not a reason for us to cry. Oh, we’ll cry because we’ll miss her heartfelt hugs and sunshine smiles But I know you wouldn’t want for her any more of life’s trials. She’s with the angels now and the rest of her family But a part of her remains with us in our hearts and minds in memory. She was a very special lady and we’ll miss her very much. There isn’t a person who knew her, who wasn’t warmed by her touch. We want to reach out a hand to touch her and to pull her close. And some of us will miss her quite a bit more than most. But let’s not dwell on our loss, but rather on her gain, Enfolded in God’s love and reunited with loved ones again. Let’s remember her loving spirit and make it part of everyday, Truly caring about others and doing things the Aunt Frances way. Death was not a loss for her. It was a liberation. Think of her, and not of you, and thank God for his salvation. Having known her and loved her, I feel truly blessed. Be at peace with the knowledge that Aunt Frances can finally rest.
The Lord has come and called away our sweet, beloved Aunt Frances today!
He wanted her in Heaven above, yet, here on earth we need her love.
Light from her lovely smile shown round. Her voice in my heart will forever resound. Why must he take those that are good and kind? And leave the wicked to mourn behind?
I would of gladly taken her place, the Master of Death to humbly face, but I am unworthy, I am too bad, instead I am left to weep and be sad.
Dear Aunt Frances all of us who loved you best. Will pray that in heaven you’ll peacefully rest.
I love you Aunt Frances. I will miss you so very much. God blessed us when he made you our Aunt. Growing up with you to protect us and rescue us. I still shudder to think what our lives would have been like without you in it. Thank you.
