It saddens me to hear of the passing of Kurt. I worked for Kurt at one of his shops in Tucson and not only was he a mentor, he was a dear friend. There will never be another like him. Anyone who knew Kurt is blessed to have been touched by his personality and charm. The angels can now sing. Love you Kurt.

I hadn’t seen Kurt for many years but in the 60’s and early 70’s we bowled together and were good friends while he was in Indianapolis. He was a super guy and a very tough bowler.
    Rest in Peace.

    Howdy,

I met Kurt when I was in need of a new barber. I walked in cold to Swade Barbers. There were three barbers there, but being shy – as he was – it was Kurt who came up and introduced himself. I am a retired Captain from the Tucson Police Department, and we hit it off immediately! After that, I followed Kurt around the greater Tucson area as he moved from shop to shop. It was not always a short drive, but I would not have gone to anyone but him as he was very good, and was a friend.

We spent many evenings chatting on the phone, talking guns, and telling old war stories.

The last day I saw him was when I went in for a hair cut at his last shop -“The Men’s Room”. It was obvious that he was tired. He told me that he wa going to completely retire at the end of the day — and then set me up with a nice young barber whom he was mentoring. We talked on the phone after that and I stopped by his house once to visit.

He was an original “old time” person. True to himself and a man of God.

    I will miss him!

Kurt was a very good friend to both my dad and I for many years. When my father passed Kurt and I met and talked about the many memories they shared! Kurt was an honorable, kind, tough, reliable man, and someone I would like to emulate! He will be missed!

I am sorry for you loss but Kurt is no longer suffering as he is now with our Lord. Kurt was my barber for 12 years in Tucson and indeed a true friend. We enjoyed many services at Alliance Bible Church together and I could always count on him being at our monthly men’s prayer breakfast. It was my privilege to have know him and indeed he will be missed by many. I look forward to the day he will great me when I arrive in heaven. May God bless you and fill the empty spot Kurt has left in your hearts.

    Dad
I hope I served you well…Jerry and I tried for a year to make your life as full as it could be and with as many memories of friends and family as possible…It was amazing to see you reaching toward the heavens…Give grandma a hug for me and aunt Erna…I love you …thanks for bringing our family back together and putting the pieces in place one final time. You made many friends dad and left an impression not to soon be forgotten.

In 2009 Kurt was the last barber to cut my Dads hair. After my Fathers death Kurt became my step Dad he would cut my hair and always talk with me and help me get through my loss. Both my Dad and Kurt had Flat Tops and Kurt had that calm loving approach to life much like my Father. The Wirth Family were lucky to have Kurt in their lives. Thanks for sharing your loving Father with me. All my best, Jack Howell ( Tucson Arizona )
