Josephine Taylor Beatty 88, passed away August 9, 2009 at Rawlins House, Pendleton, IN. Born August 18, 1920 in Indianapolis, to the late Joseph and Helen Fitzgerald. Josephine retired after several years as a telephone operator for the Federal Government including 19 years at Fort Harrison. She was later employed by Hilton Hotel’s in downtown Indianapolis. She was a member of the Ritter Avenue Free Methodist Church. She is survived by two sons, Ron (Mary) Taylor, Stephen (Judy) Taylor; daughter, Terry (John) Goodrich; step-son, Jerry (Carol) Taylor; grandchildren, Jeff Taylor, Ronna Taylor-Dye, Matthew Goodrich, Christopher Taylor, Terri Taylor; great grandchildren, Jeffrey Taylor, Laken Taylor, Ryan Dye, Reid Dye, Evan Goodrich, and Kai Barrett-Taylor; one great-great grandchild, Abagail Hoffman; brother, Thomas Fitzgerald; two sisters, Shirley Thompson, Jean Cook; and several nieces and nephews. Josephine was preceded in death by her first husband, Ernest M. Taylor; second husband, Lester Beatty; four brothers, William, Richard, Patrick, and John Fitzgerald; a sister, Betty Bamberger; and a step-daughter, Barbara O’Brien. Visitation will be Tuesday, August 11 from 4 to 8pm at Harry W. Moore Funeral Care 8151 Allisonville Rd, Indianapolis.
