John “Boone� Smith, 81, passed away March 14, 2013. He was born July 15, 1931 in Sparta, Tennessee, the son of Pete and Anna Smith. Boone was a medic during the Korean War. He served as a Sergeant. He loved fishing. He is survived by his wife of almost 49 years, Irene; daughters, Betsy (Tommy) and Jeri (Dan); brothers, Denton and Bob; sisters, Anna, Mary and Helen; 4 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, 12 great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Tom, James, and Bill. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, March 20 at First United Evangelical Church, 2916 Mooresville Road, Indianapolis, IN 46241. He will be laid to rest at Fairfield Friends Cemetery. Arrangements made by Indiana Funeral Care and Crematory.
