Date Of Death: November 14, 2012

John G. Linehan, 91, of Indianapolis, passed away Wednesday, November 14th, 2012. He had been a resident of Kindred Transitional Care and Rehab of Castleton since 2009. John was a member of the Marion County Sheriff’s Department, Indianapolis, IN. He retired from the Sheriff’s Department as Chief of Detectives. He was also a proud veteran of the United States Navy. He was Owner and President of Indiana Research Agency, Inc. for more than 35 years. He was a nationally recognized polygraph examiner, author of numerous polygraph history articles and his investigations were the subject of police journal magazines during his law enforcement career. He graduated from Cathedral High School and Purdue University. John was the widower of Marjorie Linehan who met our Heavenly Father January 1st, 2007. He was a member of St.Matthew Catholic Church, The American Legion and Knights Of Columbus. John is survived by his son Jeff Linehan (Rita) and his grandchildren Kacie and Sean all of Indianapolis. He was a proud grandfather who was actively involved in the lives of his family and especially any of his grandchildren’s activities or athletics. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. John will be deeply missed by his family and friends leaving sorrow in our hearts but vivid memories and stories of his wonderful life! Funeral services will be held Monday, November 19th at St.Matthew with family visitation from 10-11am. Father Paul Shikany’s mass Celebrating his Life and final journey to his Heavenly Father begins at 11am. John will be laid to rest at Our Lady of Peace Cemetery, 9001 Haverstick Road Indianapolis, following mass. In lieu of flowers, donations may made in his name to Bishop Chatard High School Memorial Fund or The Fraternal Order of Police, Indianapolis. Arrangements made by Indiana Funeral Care and Crematory.

    Over the years, my husband, who worked at Ford in Personnel, worked with John at times. Ted always said what a fine man John was and admired his attention to detail and professionalism. I’m sure he will be missed by many.
